Barcelona's need for a new right-back is no secret, with the team lacking depth in this position. Coach Xavi Hernandez currently has no recognised option and while Sergi Roberto's contract was extended in the hope he could continue at right-back, the team requires a more natural player to compete at the highest level.
Throughout the year, Barcelona has been linked with a host of options, including Juan Foyth, Benjamin Pavard, Diogo Dalot, and Jeremie Frimpong. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Noussair Mazraoui's name could dominate Barcelona's circles in the coming weeks.
The Bayern Munich starlet, formerly of Ajax, appears to be frustrated in Bavaria, having only featured in 17 league matches since joining the club last summer. He does not have the trust of recently appointed coach Thomas Tuchel and is eyeing a summer switch to Camp Nou.
Despite economic issues similar to those faced last summer, Barcelona is willing to make a move for the Moroccan if they receive favourable conditions, or explore the possibility of a loan deal. A lot will depend on Bayern Munich's decision.
Mazraoui is willing to do everything he can to force through the move to Barcelona, and the club has an excellent relationship with his agent, which could help them secure the former Ajax starlet's services this summer.
